Version 2B:

-          added dialogs to help you to find your creature file in case of error.

-          That’s all !!! ;o)))

Notes:

-          If your creature loses some skills during the switch: complains to Lionhead, thiswill be repaired in their next patch.

-          If one creature’s skill drops from 100% to ??% during the switch, it’s normal, I invite you to read the following chat I had with a guy:

·         Q: Umm... I had an ape, then I changed it to a lion, I teached Mega Blast 100% to that lion, then I changed it to a rhino, and it's not 100% anymore... Do you know what the problem is with that?

·         My guess: assuming that a rhino is smarter than a lion (don't know if it's true in the game) there can be the possibility: let's say that you need to cast megablast 100 times in front of a lion to teach him the spell, but 130 times for the rhino: you taught the spell to yourlion but when changed for a rhino you still need to cast 30 times the spell in front of the rhino. I don't know if it's possible, but you might try to teach megablast to your rhino, swap back for the lion and swap again for the rhino: it should still remember the spell.

·         Answer from the guy: I tried that and it worked, so it's about their intelligence, thank you..

-          Screenshots below may not be accurate, but I really don’t have time to update them :o)

How to change your creature without losing its mind:

REMEMBER, after playing a while (when your creature had learned new things for instance), if you want to change your creature and keep its actual mind, you MUST repeat the following steps.

1 – Launch the program “BWCreatureChange.exe”

2 – Choose your profile in the profile list:

In the above picture, only one profile is available on (my) computer, it’s the profile for the user “Bruno”. Remember, B&W is adding “_” signs between each letter of your profile name.

3 – Click on the chosen profile. The interface should look like that now (creature file could change for you):

The “creature file” field contain the filename of your creature AI that’s very important in order to be sure that you will keep your actual creature’s mind during the change. BEFORE CONTINUING IT IS RECOMMEND THAT YOU BACKUP THIS FILE (just in case...). Something goes wrong you just have to replace that file (here the file is H:\Black & White\Scripts\CreatureMind\C4a608c80.erc) with your backup.

A line appears indicating the class of your current creature (here it’s a Gorilla)

4 – Select the new creature you want (here a Lion is chosen). Click on the button “Change creature type”. A text line indicates the new creature type “Your current creature is a ....” (see picture above).

5 – Done !! You have nothing else to do !

I hope it will work fine for you, but as usual “I cannot be held responsible for any damage that program could do to your computer, etc... You can freely redistribute that proggy wherever you want according you .. doh... according nothing, it’s free !”.
